You gotta love the awesome Spyderco Bushcrafter, but I am just personally not fond of polished handles. The Spyderco Bushcrafter comes highly polished, and that just didn't do it for me. A little bit of a matte finish on G10 or micarta goes a long way in terms of providing grip - wet or dry.

So, a few 3M pads, lots of meticulous masking of the blade/spine, and couple hours of work later - woot! The perfect Spyderco Bushcrafter (IMO). It's amazing how much grippier it feels without being "rough" feeling, especially when wet.

Whatcha think??

BEFORE - Polished

AFTER - Nice and grippy

Good job. I bet it grips better and it looks better too.

Looks good. I think the new Spyderco Puukko with brown G-10 is unpolished. It looks grippy.

Hi LightGuy,

Nice job. Let us know how it works out, especially with prolonged use.
