Hey guys, new to the forum. Great job you guys are doing here, keep it up. Always liked knives, but only recently started to purchased some. I have a leatherman (always with me), Cudeman, Buck 119BRS, Smith and Wesson pocket knife, so not the best collection (NOT YET) but working on it. I'm looking to buy a Spyderco Byrd BY07PS, can anyone give me any info on it, would appreciate any feedback, thanks.

What is the model name? Cara cara? Raven? Finch? I don't know the model numbers. I'd like to help you out!

I have the stainless steel serrated version..its a great knife, I recently used it to rip out a few rooms of carpeting in my home......I would recommend it, although I think I would prefer the G-10 handle to my stainless one.....it was the first Byrd I bought and I just thought the stainless handle looked cooler, but I think the G-10 would be a little safer, i.e. better grip

Google says it's the cross bill. I don't own it but if you like hawkbills and need to save some money you can't go wrong with spyderco's byrd line.

That model is the stainless Crossbill, right? I have the G10, fully-serrated version and it's a great value, I think. It's sharp sharp.

Wow awesome the One byrd i can help with! I have one in G10 and love it! But I had to modify it to my liking, I'll post pics when I get home!

it was actually a tossup between those 2, but like you, i thought the stainless steel looks better:D

I have the G-10 PE version and it is a superbly designed and finished knife, which is comfortable in the hand and also looks nice.

Hey, I have one. Mine is the CE. It's a really well finished knife with solid lockup. The only dowside for me is that it is a little thin for my hands but is not really a deal breaker for me. I really like the way my crossbill zips through cardboard, twine, nylon rope that we often use a lot of when setting up in the range.

I love mine, but I configured mine for SD oriented tasks, and showing off. :p Here are some pics, I cut grooves into the G10, and on the edges, since there wasn't any jimping, and I added a lanyard and a ziptie wave. I really wish I could get someone to wave this for me, maybe CM? Since I don't have the tools. I wish I had gotten the SE version, since I like fully serrated knives. I would suggest the G10 version, since even this G10 version felt slick, I think the SS one would be that much worse? It does cut like a hoss though!

The stainless handled version is a LOT heavier than the G-10, so if you like carrying a brick in your pocket, the SS is the way to go. I've got a couple of the G-10 version in full serrated, and it makes a great work knife. Here's a size comparison with the Spyderhawk, Harpy and Merlin
