Spyderco Byrd Duckfoot?

Has anyone here given the Spyderco Byrd Duckfoot Sharpener a try? I have the Sharpmaker but not the diamond rods so I was wondering if it would make more sense to pay half as much for the Duckfoot that has the diamond coating or spend the money on the diamond rods for the Sharpmaker. It appears from pictures that I’ve seen that the Duckfoot would also be carried along with you easier than the Sharpmaker. Any thoughts?
