Does anyone have it? God, what a piece of crap!

I usually refrain from posting negative comments about some piece of gear, but I had the stupid idea of buying one a few years ago. Today I tried to use it again: absolutely useless :grumpy:! The steel is soft, you can't put an once of force on the handle because the darn thing WILL fold and if you use the hammer long enough it WILL COME APART !

Sorry for the rant, but I needed something to start drilling a hole in wood here in the office and the Harp was at hand, right in my knife cabinet, so I thought it could save me the trip to the tool box. But of course it didn't deliver and I had to go fetch a decent tool.

The worse part is that when I got one for me I bought two, and gave one to my dad as a gift . That was the first time in my life that I embarrassed myself with a gift to someone.

Ok, I'm done venting.

I looked at them when they first came out for about 5 minutes. Part of me thought, "Well, I'm sure this is lack luster, but it might come in handy." Then I sort of realized that it really wouldn't do anything that my SAK couldn't already do.

Thanks for the info. I'm glad I passed. Byrd is usually pretty good stuff. I like my ByrdRench a lot, and I got to play with a FyreByrd. That's a neat little tool for those that like to drink and smoke (but I don't smoke).

I bought it through the interweb, deciding only through pics. If I had the chance of handling it I would never had bought, it screams "made in China by the gazillions". Besides, the project is totally flawed, I can't understand how a company like Spyderco would associate themselves with a product like this

Thanks for the review - or, should I say warning? I was thinking of picking one of these up since it is different, and I really like the 2 Byrds I own. Instead, I guess I'll save up for the Victorinox Swisstool Spirit X.

It's more of an anachronistic throwback than anything else. Harp tools were the first multitools as is were. But they were of dubious value then and are the same today. :o

Honestly, if that thing is your first MT, it can also be your last MT - you'll get so disgusted about a MT that you may never want to buy another .

The bottle opener is nice. The rest... it's a curio, not something for real use. Way lower quality than I expected given the byrd/Spyderco name.
