Spyderco C101GPBBK2 question

If I were to order a C101GPBBK2 Spyderco, what would I be getting ?. I know it would be a Manix 2 and pretty much all black. From this part # can anyone tell what grind or steel the blade would be ? Thanks
 
Sometimes a search shows a full flat grind and sometimes a hollow grind for the same part #. Who knows, I'll take any one of them. I sort of hope it's a HG because I already have a few FFG's .

I think online stores are using older pictures of newer Manix models ? I'm trying to figure out if the older knives had a different model number.

I believe you are quite right. I went through this myself over the last few months, because I really wanted a C101GPBBK2 (Manix 2 with black blade). A lot of online retailers still had the hollow grind picture (and some even still listed the knife as 154CM steel), but many of those came back to tell me -- after inspecting their inventory -- that they actually had the S30V in FFG. I believe the model number was exactly the same...Spyderco simply "updated" the grind and steel of the blade.

I just bought another one of these the other day, and even though the picture showed a hollow grind blade, I'm quite certain I will receive the FFG blade.
 
Thanks Hannibal24. The place I ordered from showed a hollow grind with 154 CM in the picture and in the write up it said hollow grind and S30V. I'll probably get a FFG in S30V.

I think they did change the blade steel first (from 154CM to S30V) and then, at some point, changed the grind (from hollow to FF). When I was shopping for a Manix 2 several weeks ago, a few retailers still actually had the hollow grind in S30V in stock, but most realized that they had the FFG S30V after inspecting their inventory (e.g. Knifeworks, Bladeops). CutleryShoppe made specific note in their item description that they were shipping the FFG version...kudos to them for being on top of it.
