Every now and then you find a really great folder! This is one of the premier gents folders I've seen in recent years! I really like it! Its the perfect size, super slim. The blade is thin and this makes the whole package great as a 'transition' folder. This folder is along the same lines for thinness as a lot of slip joints and other pocket carry knives. At 2.4 ounces you certainly can't argue with it for comfort loose in the pocket. These make it a heck of a choice for guys that always carried a slip joint but want to find something with a locking blade to get the advantage of that. This folder will suffice for this in my opinion.

I love the way the carbon fiber handles are slightly dimpled or textured. Its not aggressive at all yet it aids grip tremendously while still allowing the carbon fiber eye dazzler effect from the layers in the materials. The lock up is well done and typical for what I've been seeing from the Japanese knives so imagine my surprise when it was made in Taiwan. Things sure have changed. I can't find fault with this folder really. S30V steel, carbon fiber scales, lock back design, fits the hand well with a sloping hump not too high for those that find this a tad uncomfortable and light weight and a perfect leaf shaped blade. Whats not to love. Wait! I do see one drawback I guess. I don't think I'll be asked to make any low rider clips for it! :( It comes with a low rider wire clip that does the job nicely.. I think they're on to me:D

Seriously its a sweet knife. I can't take credit for bringing it to my awareness. It is a gift and I just had to write my first thoughts while fresh in my mind and I had time. This is one of those knives you look forward to as it progresses in each generation or incarnation as I call it since to me these have lives of their own. Anyway, not that I'm any good at predicting the future but I have a hunch the future incarnations of this model are going to gradually accumulate in my safe.

Great job Sal/ Eric & team. Another winner. This is the first Spyderco to come out since the Para 2 that has made it into my EDC. I look forward to seeing the future models.

I liked the knife so much that I got two of them! It is a great size and easy to open. I have knives that might be prettier, but don't
always work so well. This is just a great knife. It is easy to open and does whatever I use a pocket knife for. The only time when I might
not want to carry it is if I need something smaller, or something much bigger.

ZDP/FRN Dragonfly. This was IT!...the smallest lightest best folder ever! THIS was the smallest folder I'd ever EDC.
Then came the Chaparral. Ergos are better. Doesn't feel cramped on opening. Stiffer with better "heft" in hand. A true and refined gent's folder.
The smallest folder I'll EDC from now on.

Got mine last week, perfect gentlemans folder, backlock a bit gritty to disengage compared to delica 4 but this is maybe due to tighter tolerances,
should be smoother with use.
I had a sage 1 but went off the wide leaf shape blades due to the width in the pocket, i prefer delica 4 ffg or para 2 blade shape better, i like the chaparral blade though,
not as wide as the sage 1.
