The C-44 big Dyad is truly my top dog for EDC carry. I have been carrying one of mine daily for over 2 years now. Having a fully serrated blade along with a super streamlined, flat grind, clip point, Plain edged blade just gives you a super folder that you can virtually do any reasonable cutting chores with. If I was to do an episode of Man Versus Wild I would be content to just carry my big Dyad. And keep in mind that I use both of it's blades a lot. I accompany my big Dyad most of the time with a Spyderco G-10 handled Harpy. The 2 of them together just has me spoiled rotten. There is no way I could go back to carrying a mainline, hardware store knife ( I won't mention any brands because most of you know who I'm talking about anyway).
The popularity and demand/appreciation for the C-44 is slowly and surely manifesting itself. Along with YAB and a couple of other Hard Core Dyad fans I know of here on the 2 Forums > I am slowly hearing more and more people coming forward and realizing that a full sized, multi variation, double bladed knife truly has it's place in our tool arsenal. If more people were aware of the super utility potential of the big Dyad they would bolster market demand to where Spyderco would act on it. I do think we will see Spyderco bring back another full sized double bladed knife. I am beginning to doubt however if it will be another Dyad model. But I would sure love to see a new one made in Golden Colorado with either M-4 or some other Crucible blade steel. Thanks for starting this thread. BRING back the DYAD, AYOOB, JD Smith and C-46 Bob Lum tanto folder. All of the above are just to darned good to retire. JD
