Spyderco Caly 3 CF Damascus or Spyderco Techno?

So I have a Spyderco Techno, and I really love the knife, but I have been after a Spyderco Caly 3 Damascus. I just am in love with the look of that knife and it would be a user for me. I would carry it with my Sebenza. It's a gorgeous knife and is very limited. The Techno will probably be around for a while.

So the question is, should I ditch the Techno and go for the Caly 3?
 
I'd do it, use it like I use my Caly 3.5 CF -- hard! :D Go for it! I may be a little biased, but the Techno doesn't really 'do it' for me.
 
I don't really dig the Techno either. I did buy the Caly 3 Damascus though, and I love it. You know what my answer would be :)
 
I carried a Caly3 for several years; VG10 steel. Great knife. I've had two NIB Techno's; sold both without ever using them.
...and you know that damascus is super-nice. Yeah, get the CF Damascus, IMO.
My first CRK was a Zaan and I still have it, but I've learned to appreciate Sebbies. Still do. Have bought/sold/traded maybe 12 of them; still have a Classic and a Regular, both large. Just plain Janes, the way I like 'em.

Go for the Caly if it's the one you really want, which it sounds like it is.
 
I am, I can get a Techno again later on. It's a wonderful knife and I really like it. But it is full production and I'll be able to get one at a good price later on.
Even though this Damascus Caly is a second, it's a highly limited sprint knife and will only go up in value over time and this may be my last chance to get one.

id personally stick with the techno over the dam caly. why?, i wouldnt be able to see myself using the dam caly or carrying it often... then again im hardly a collector.
what youre giving up is a knife youd enjoy carrying and using for a knife you'd enjoy ocassionally looking at and collecting unless you had planned on using the dam caly as well?

i say, try to get that dam caly blem without selling/trading off the techno... and since is a 2nd, i wouldnt stress over it much. if its meant to be, its meant to be :)
 
^^ I do indeed plan on carrying and using it lol.
Most people let their Damascus knives sit, not me.
It would be carried daily and used.
 
I would love to trade something different for it but he's only interested in the Techno.
Sooo, it's a hard decision, but like I said, I may not have a chance at this one again.
 
Well, I love damascus so I'm biased, but I suggest you watch the Youtube video "Using Damascus" by soloknifereviews. He shows that you can really use an SS damascus knife without a problem, and he cuts anything you can think of.

I listened as he talked about the VG-10 Spyderco Damascus and such.
I didn't have doubts that it could stand up to work, but now watching that, I have absolutely no doubts lol.

I am a plain Titanium junky, so it's made it kind of a hard decision as the Techno is titanium perfection with excellent steel.

However, the Caly 3 is an expensive limited knife that I'll likely never have another shot at.
 
Love and use my Caly 3 CF Damascus. It's my most carried knife ever since I got one as a gift this Yule.

You can still find some for sale at some of the respected online dealers if you can go out-of-pocket rather than trade.
 
If I could afford $235+ out of pocket, I'd buy one for sure.
Sadly, I'm really broke and don't get to buy knives very often.
 
I got one of the Caly 3 Damascus Sprints as my dedicated gentlemen's folder. The fit and finish is fantastic, and the damascus is functional as well as artistic.
