I bought one of these about 6 months ago with micarta handle and regular blade. The reason I bought it was for those times when my Large Sebenza was just too large. You know, airports, office sheeple etc. I gotta say that I absolutely love this knife. Excellent construction overall. The flat ground blade just seems to cut better than most of the knives I've ever used (including, dare I say, my Sebenza). Also, it's a breeze to sharpen that thin blade on the Sharpmaker. Size is just about perfect for everything except reaching all the way thru a bagel.
Very comfy handle and super clip.
Who else owns one of these great little knives?

It's one of my favorites. I carry it most every day, leaving it at home only when I know I might get into some heavy cutting (yard work, etc...). Also, if you love the Calypso, Jr., you should check out a Dragonfly. It has many of the same characteristics in a smaller, even more sheeple and airline friendly package.

I bought mine about a month ago and it is one of my favorites, it looks classy, it feels great in the hand, and it is the sharpest knife I own, the factory edge was beyond scary sharp. All that goodness for a relatively low price, in my opinion cant be beat.

I just got mine yesterday. I'm amazed at what a neat little knife this is. Everything is smooth and slick and it just looks right opened or closed. I was working with razor blades the other day, scraping caulk off of tile, and I was reminded exactly what "razor sharp" means. The Spyderco factory edge is just that.
Did anyone else's Calypso Jr. need some good "breaking in" before it would spydie-flick open super-smooth? Mine is micarta and the handle is very light. It's getting there, though. I bet the large Calypso flicks open perfectly.

I have the stainless handle model/Spyderedge and it is AWESOME! Has some scratches from being carried but somehow it makes it look even cooler!? You're right about sharpening as the serrated is just as easy to do on the Sharpmaker. I got the Calypso for a great deal so I was pretty hard on it and it hasn't given an inch! BEAUTY knife! Gonna get another!
