I am considering to buy a SPYDERCO CARA CARA or TENACIOUS , 35$ shipped to Canada as I have noticed that those offer best performance for their prices.
BUT, is it worth to get a KERSHAW MINI CYCLONE for about the same price, 35$ shipped ? Kershaw seems to have a bit better steel and the MRSP price is 80$ versus 40-50$ for CARA CARA - TENACIOUS .
I have to mention that I am gonna use the knife quite moderately...
I haven't had so far a G-10 handle knife...would that provide a better grip than a normal HA aluminium handle, is it more expensive too ?

With the collection I have right now I would jump on the Cyclone, just because it's a good deal. If I had to choose between the two for EDC, the Tenacious would probably be my choice. It is a very good design, especially for the price.

go for the Tenacious, there is actually a slightly noticeable difference in quality between the Byrd knives and actual SpyderCos

Don't forget about the exchange rate either, that $35 becomes $42

I have no experience with the Cyclone -- looks like a nice design, and sounds like a good deal. I do know the Tenacious is awesome, though. Can also be found online for $27, US.

The Tenacious has amazing quality for its country of origin. Mine is almost perfect, better than knives I payed three times the price and more, for.

I would probably go with the TENACIOUS in this case as all the people agree it's a very reliable knife !
Thanks for the canadian site info, but even so, the e-bay is cheaper.
CRKT BANDERA - retails for 50$ - is a competitor for the TENACIOUS, both have roughly the same steel, same handle, BANDERA is just slimmer...

You're good with whatever you go with. The cyclone is nice. The Tenacious is nice. the cara cara is nice. I like how you can turn the assist off on the cyclone.

I'm all for buying USA all the way, however, keep in mind... 98% of knives made in china are crap. However, the Byrds and Tenacious are the 2% that are pretty solid.
