I received one of the Spyderco carbon fiber Dodo knives this past Friday. First impressions... generally positive. The blade grinds are consistent. There are no obvious blemishes on the blade. The blade is well positioned both open and closed. Lock-up is solid. The carbon fiber scales are well fitted and attractive. The scales feel "slippery" but, despite that, the knife feels secure when I grasp it in my bare hand. The lock includes a white ceramic ball. While I would have preferred a black ball, the white is an interesting contrast to the color of the carbon fiber. I'm a bit concerned about how well the ceramic material will hold up with use over time, but I'm not going to worry about that too much right now.

Dodo collectors / users will probably enjoy this knife.

F&F on this one is top-drawer, especially the grinds (a big improvement over the orange version). The ceramic is harder than the steel, I wouldn't worry about wear on the ball!

I wouldn't worry too much about the ceramic ball. It's not the same kind of ceramic as your coffee mug, very different

+1, especially on grind
I received my Dodo yesterday. It is just perfect. I never liked smooth CF, but I like this one. It is much better looking and feeling than on Caly, UKPK, Native4, Shabaria and others. I hope that Spyderco will do permanent change.

I just wish that they would at least do a few of these Sprint Run Dodo models in Spyderedge. That Dodo is truly my favorite small bladed Spyder. But that Dodo in Spyderedge is truly a little beast. The Native in Spyderedge is a good one but the Dodo in Spyderedge is absolutely super.

Just like the C-60 Ayoob which was another Great past model that shined exceptionally in the Spyderedged version the Dodo just cuts through just about anything in Spyderedge.

That model has the luxury of having the attributes of a Hawkbill and a Reverse S blade both. I wish they would at least do some of these Sprint runs in SE on a special order basis if nothing else.

You and me both. It seems like fully serrated blades are going out of style. Spyderco doesn't offer as many as they used to. Guess they don't sell very well.

Got my one yesterday. I Do like the grindgrind, but I find the CF to slick and I don't like the white ceramic ball. I totally missed that on the preview pictures. My fault.
The nice looking CF is more gentleman/techie style I find. The white ball doesn't fit in my opinion ... Should be metal or titanium :)

I just got mine. Really like this knife. It's light and feels really good in the hand. Perfect boxcutter imho. What i don't like: the white ceramic ball, it just doesn't look right and it looks a bit cheap to me. I'm having a hard time disengaging the lock, with one and two hands. Wonder how users with big hands access the ball...
