Any opinions or comments will be appreciated. Are the case leg straps removable? Is the knife hard to deploy, because of the case retention system? Could the case be fitted with a G-clip for IWB carry? THANKS

I'll buy one Monday just to review for you :-)

That's a lie. I was going to pick one up anyway. I'll let you know how it is.

Hi Redneckone,

The leg straps are removable. It could be fitted to a "G" clip, but some mods might be necessary. I'm sure we will evolve the design and accessories as the model is in the marketplace. We're waiting to see what changes the customers will want.

Update: My knife shop doesn't have these in stock yet. It will take about 2 to 3 days, in which time I'll post a review. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I haven't handled one yet but have used many different styles of dive knives in the past.

I have to say that this design looks truley innovative. The finger hole is brilliant and I can't wait to see what it feels like. I'm pretty confident that Spyderco managed to get the ergo's on this right as they almost always do with their products.

The angled handle also looks like a lot of thought went into this, particulary as it applies to diving scenarios. Yet another innovation for this class of knife. If somebody has handled one of these things please post. I'd like to hear what their impressions on its relative heft. 1/8" thickness would make it rather light.

Dive knives often see a lot of prying duty, e.g. pulling oysters off rocks. I'm wondering if the blunted model would fair better for this.

I'm very much interested in this one as well and would love to hear about a first hand experience with it.

Sal, thanks for the review. I like every thing SPYDERCO has built with the forward hole. I have three Spots, three Swicks, and will be adding two Caspian Salts. I don't dive, so will be using the Caspian Salt for utility & MBC. G-clip carry would be perfect for IWB. I noticed the Rock Salt comes with a G-clip? I would like G-clips for my Street Beat and Ronin,as well. Any advice on where buy G-clips and mounting hardware would be appreciated.
