Spyderco Cat Lanyard Hole

I have heard that the lanyard hole on the Spyderco Cat is very small and that 550 (even gutted) does not fit in it. Is this true? Also, I was wondering if I could take off the clip and put a lanyard through the hole where the screw that holds the clip is. Has anyone else done this? I will be receiving my Spyderco Cat around Tuesday or Wednesday.

Hey not familiar with that one but you could use a small accessory cord for climbing. Small dia braided cord and very strong.

Gutted para should be no problem. I have the older Cat in S30V and gutted cord runs right through the lanyard hole.
The 440C version seems to be about the same from pictures I have seen.
