Hi everyone I'm new to bladeforums.com. I am just starting out with knife collecting and spyderco's caught my eye. I don't really have a lot money to spend, but the Centofante III and Delica 4 are right in my price range. They both seem like quality knifes and i just cant decide which one to get. I will be using the knife for pretty much everything other than prying things open, so the blade thinnes doesn't matter. Any advise on which to get would be much thanked!

The delica is one of the most tried and proven lines that Spyderco has. I don't think you'll go wrong either way.

I like the Centofante a little better. The handle is smoother and the fit is just a bit better in my palm. Plus, when Frank died, I kinda got a little more attached to it. Sentimental, I guess.

Delica 4 FFG, hands down. Not a fan of pinned construction or the scale on the Centofante. I'm sure both are great, though.

I love my Cento 3 more than my Delica 4 FFG. Thin blade with hollow grind makes the blade an excellent slicer. Cento 3 is the first pinned knife I've owned that I can flick with my thumb. Design for the Cento 3's blade is quite sexy, beautiful curves and them swedges :D

Now Delica does win the the department in variety. The reason I'm keeping my Delica is because it's blue :D

I have a Delica 4 in black and I think it is just about the perfect EDC knife. I carry an Endura/Pacific Salt at work but for off duty in warm weather with shorts, I love the Delica. You forget it is even there until you need it. That being said the Cento 3 is very nice looking knife and would probably make a bettter knife for "showing" to people.
