Hey whatup guys, this is a beautiful folder from Spyderco, the C152CFP Carbon Fiber Chaparral. This guy is part of a passaround here and this will be my week long review while I have it in my possession.

I took it out of the box today and the first thing that made me laugh was that it is a quite small knife. The size overall is 6 3/8 inches (162 MM for those on the metric system) with a blade length of 2.8 inches (71 MM) and a weight of just 2.5 ounces (70 grams)!!

Honestly the length and weight did not shock me as much as the blade stock did. At just 2 MM thick it is a VERY thin blade, very suited for gentleman tasks and precise cutting.

Now onto the handle, a beautiful carbon fiber/G10 laminate. This carbon fiber is different than what I have experienced from other companies in that it is textured, it feels bumpy and very comfortable, not glass slick like other knives i've had (The carbon fiber kershaw blur being one of them). The fit and finish on the liners and backspacer are very good, smooth and well lined up with the handle scales. The backlock engages very surely, smooth and with none of the play I've grown to know and tolerate in the endura/delica models.

The blade itself is a satin finished FFG S30V blade with a fantastic choil and very slight thumb ramp, which is necessary given the handle itself fits at best three fingers. Edge as it came was decent, would push cut paper but not shave hair however I plan to sharpen it tomorrow and will see how the edge holds up to this week's testing.

Alright guys, for now I'm out, I'll get back to you tomorrow with before/after pictures of the edge

Thanks for the great review! I have one of them CF Chappies and it's everything you said, but mine came really sharp out of the box. It's a pleasure to handle, use and carry.
