Spyderco Chinook I, II or III ??? Which???

Hi. I'm new to the forums and excited to be able to get your advice. I wish to purchase a Spyderco Chinook. I did a froogle search to get a good price and learned there are 3 models to choose from.

Which? :confused:

I am wanting a self defense knife, btw. And needing a good price, too.

A post at Spyderco forum sez II is hollow ground and III is flat ground. Which is better for self defense knife? Which keeps an edge better? Which is easiest to sharpen? etc.

Either the II or III for sure. The design is much more refined and comfortable on the latter two.

Other than that, it simply comes down to whether you like hollow or full flat ground more. The rest is completely identical on the II and III.

Personally, I prefer full flat grinds, they just work better for me.
 
I have the 2 but I really want the 3. I prefer flat ground blades. They seem to cut with less drag. They also seem to stay sharper longer. This is mostly opinion and personal preference. I suggest you handle both and decide for yourself.
