Hey guys! New here and looking for a value of a Chinook I 440V James Keating. Only issue is minor wear on the clip. Hard to find much about them so any info helps. Thanks!

The only Chinook models I ever had were the S30V>> but your 440V model should have some collector appeal to it because I've personally only ever seen one in 440V over the years.. I don't know the official factory numbers on how many were produced but I do know that they were not offered for very long in 440V. My personal favorite was the CHINOOK III mainly because it was the only one of the CHINOOK models with a full flat grind.

I do believe that what you have would have more collector appeal than any of the other Chinook models simply because it's the most rare and I'm 99% certain of that.

I don't want to be "that guy"

But read the rules about posting anything regarding values. I could be wrong here.

I had a chinook 3 years ago. Great knife.
You should just search the internet and the forum for sold listing and start with that for a ball park perhaps.

Here's what I recommend you do>> get a GOLD Membership here on Bladeforums>> then put it up for trade on the EXCHANGE section. Because you might be pleasantly surprised at what some guys would offer you in trade for an older Spyderco CHINOOK I, 440V model.

That model does indeed have collector appeal and it would be hard to put a cash value on it>> but putting it up for trade I think would be most interesting. I've had great luck over the years trading stuff here at BF.

Also do you have the original factory box for it? All those things would add to the appeal of the knife. But do keep us posted because I would be interested myself to see what someone would offer for it.
