You Spydie nuts sure give me lots to do. And people wonder why I love Spyderco so much!:D

Anyway, got this one in the mail today. It will be a few days getting back to it but I can do the initial before scan and start a thread for it documenting its arrival.

This one will be Waved, then some new black Micarat scales will be made for it and after that a new custom made titanium low rider pocket clip will be made to fit it for tip up carry and then anodized blue jean blue to blend with slacks.

Should be nice. Once I get these other jobs ahead of it knocked out I'll get to this one in line.

One thing though. Pageophile. You said at the end of your note in the PS to see the enclosed sketch for a low rider clip design curved to follow the handle of the Civi. I don't see that you enclosed any sketch for me. Just FYI its not in the envelope with the knife. It will be a few before I get to your knife. Maybe you can stick it in the mail in a snail mail envelope and by the time I'm to it I'll have it.

After seeing this knife and realizing its only got a metal liner on one side only I opted not to do the Micarta only sides, well, after talking the owner out of it. These longer knives can end up with a lot of give using Micarta by itself since it won't be as rigid or stable that way all by itself like G10 or G11, or Carbon Fiber would be. Can't likely put a liner under it since the hardware will all fall way short to make that possible.

So, I tried best I could to clean up the dimple as per the instructions from the owner after we discussed that.

In the end I did not like the low rider at all. It played against the Wave so bad that I removed it and made a new clip for it in a standard style. Many times on these Waved knives, and especially the longer ones like this or the Military I have noticed this trait to where it forces one that would like have both a low ride clip and a Wave mod to have to decide which they would rather have the most and pass on the other. In this case the blade was already Waved by the time I found this out so it isn't something that can be undone and the only alternative to make the Wave mod feesible for the owner was to make a custom standard style clip, curved to match the handle a bit better than the factory one and as the owner wanted it, in blue jean blue to match up and blend a bit better with slacks.

Hope you like it my friend. The Wave works great now. It looks better too I think. Of course you are the final judge but I'm sure you'll like it in the hand. The hook grabs most exceellent! Also, the holes I drilled to clean up the handle for you add significant grip for you when extracting the folder to activate the Wave action.

Hey what a great surprise :) Looks good Bro and you made all the right calls regarding the handle and clip. Would rather have it wave 100% than have a clip that hindered the wave.

Please let me know how much I owe you (garrysim at gmail dot com) and I'll fire off payment to you .

I can hardly wait for to try it out for myself :D

Hello STR,

The Waved Civi arrived today. It waves Great, the clip pretty much disappears on jeans and the holes look pretty sharp (add grip too).

It's been a pleasure doing business with you. Rest assured you will be hearing from me again :D

Warmest regards,

Page

PS, There were no extra parts in my shipment, sorry bro.
