I am thinking of purchasing a Spyderco Civilian, aluminum handles, rubber grips, serrated edge; from Ebay.com. My question was concerning repairs, restoration, and/or rubber grip replacement under warranty. I asked the seller if he had any paperwork, and he said all he has is the knife and original case. Can I still send it in to Spyderco for repairs, sharpening, grip replacement? Thank you for your replies, and Merry Christmas.

it's my understanding that Civilians and Matriarch fall under all points of the Spyderco Warranty with the exception of use... it is not warranteed for general utility use and as such, cases of "I was trying to saw some cardboard and the tip broke off" will not be covered under warrantee.
Which gets one wondering, if such a thing did happen, would Spyderco do repairs on such a knife for a price?
'Spose only Mr. Glesser could really say on that one.

I'd worry more that they wouldn't have parts, considering how very discontinued the knife is.
