You might want to go to the Spyderco Forum for this question

I think he is just gettin' adjusted the forums. No worries ;)

But the best lock of all time is the patented Busse Fixed blade. NEVER FOLDS!!! :grumpy:

You will have to excuse the pranksters around here! I'll try to give you a serious answer; if the linerlock is made of Unobtanium and the compressionlock of dutch Gouda cheese, the latter will be signifigantly stronger. But only on thursdays! :D

Yes, yes.......it sounds right, I'll admit that! But do you have any scientific proof?

rctk1, most definitely try and understand these jamokes are ribbing you in good fun. No malice intended.

I see from your other postings you are responsibly looking into a folder decision.

That can be a tough decision my friend, but you are definitely performing due diligence in finding as much info as you can before spending your money.

If there is any way we can help, be sure to let us know man.

We have all been on a quest for information before, and sometimes forget how frustrating and lengthy it can often turn out to be.

Good luck bud.

The compression lock is a superior design and should have higher gross failure points than the Military's linerlock. The Military linerlock however is something spyderco has taken to an exact science, it's reliable, consistant, and generally will only fail if you manage to disengage it with your hand by accident, mechanical failure isn't likely unless you're doing fixed blade chores with it. The Compression lock on the other hand is relatively new, and even now is undergoing changes with each model that Spyderco puts out, and sometimes changes in new production runs of the same model. The military is supposed to be getting a compression lock sometime in the future, but no date is set.
