Who here owns a Spyderco Cricket? What do you use it for? I find myself grabbing it for just about everything I do in my daily life. Opening letters, packages, etc. The aggressive tip really tears into things. I picked up one in SS with the plain edge. I have it pictured with some other popular EDC's. I'm thinking I will be picking up another Cricket or two, at least one more with the serrated edge. :)

Wade,I got all worked up and started buying SE Crickets as I figured they'd make nice little sheeple friendly EDC's.Well I never did carry any of them due to the fact they don't quite fit my hand.Seems the Enduras and Delicas fit me better than anything else.Crickets are cute little buggers tho.tom.:D

They are a bit small for my hand as well, but I've decided to make due with it anyway. :) There's been to many times I've been at my retail sales job and I have needed to pull out a knife to open something and the 710HSSR is just to much knife. :) I would have to like open it part way, or turn around and try and hide it while I was using it. :) The Cricket will hopefully not scare the customers away.

I just got my first Cricket a couple of weeks ago. I got the SS PE model also. It's a great little knife, I love the solid feel of the lock. I mainly use it for opening letters and other small chores.

Permanent fixture in my pocket, works all day as a billfold and every imaginable cutting task. I have three of them, one steel, serrated with a gray finish, one carbonfibre ss serrated and one plastic handled non serrated. It's a perfect fit in my hand, the best to date from Spyderco and I have lots of their knives!

Where did you find the carbonfibre version? Or is "Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon" the same thing? :)

I bought it from Preatoni in Milan. I got the other two there as well. It's got the same carbonfibre pattern that you see on some cars. Glass reinforced plastic (I think it's probably the same thing as fibreglass reinfoced nylon) is usually black. This is probably what my plain edged one is as it seems a cut above cheap plastic. The gray all steel is my favourite of the three and seems the better quality, it also locks closed with a loud snap like a switchblade that always brings out the kid in me - this is missing from the other two.

I've been seriously thinking of a Cricket but the knife shop near me has to order it and they want to charge me $140!!!

Anyone know a place where I can order one on the net and they'll ship international. One place I looked at wanted to charge me almost as much for shipping as the cost of the knife. That's a ripoff as far as I'm concerned so I need to find some others who'll ship at somewhere near the real cost.

I have a FRN Cricket PE and while it is a lot of knife in a small package, it just doesn't fit my hand well. I do use it for a money clip from time to time and it does double duty for light cutting jobs like opening snack packages. Great for that sort of thing. It is so light it disappears in your pocket which is a valuable benefit for a money clip. Of course, a money clip that bites the hand that tries to steal it comes in handly as well. ;)

Hey Cricket fans, what I want to know is how does it stack up to say a Spyderco Mouse? My Wife has a Cricket that she lets me play with but I'm looking hard at trying to obtain a Mouse, so I'm interested in hear about how a Cricket compares to a Mouse. Does anyone out there own both?
