Sal,
I have to get some of these visions out of my head before I become ill. I really like the SS clipits for their solidity, durability, smoothness, and other reasons. But I don't like the slippery handles, the shiny SS, and their weight. I remember the LtWt. aluminum-handled Police model, and I missed getting one. I would like to see some more of the current SS knives offered in aluminum versions, and for Spyderco to be able to anodize their handles in different colors. I would like to see a Police LtWt. (or other SS clipits) again with a black anodized handle, black-t blade, and some sort of surface treatment (stipling, checkering, kraton inserts) for grip enhancement. I would also like to see a knife like that with multiple clip attachment points, for tip-up/tip-down AND the same on the other side for southpaws. Whew, I feel better. Now if I could just buy one of those, the feeling would be complete!

Quick story. I lived in Montana from '89 to '92, and enjoyed taking my 1988 Honda Hurricane 1000 on twisty mountain two-lanes whenever possible. I remember this guy in a white BMW 530i that was riding my rear end as I came back from Helena, MT heading home. He started playing games and thought that his BMW was fast, so I played with him in this long straight stretch by letting him get ahead for about a quarter mile. When I rolled up along him to show him who was boss, we were doing about 105. He floored his 530i and I did the same, but I didn't let off of the throttle for a while. I was hugging my tank for dear life when I looked down at the speedo, it said 168. I looked into my mirrors, but didn't see the BMW any more! I slowed to 85, and a few miles later, the BMW came alongside me again. But, this time he went by VERY slowly and wouldn't look over at me!! Moral of the story: don't try this in your home state, use of a motorcycle can be hazardous to your health, and if you're driving a car that you think is fast, there's a two-wheeled vehicle out there that will always kick your ass!

A heartwarming story, Savman. Ask me sometime and I'll tell you about the time I puked out the window of a Brazilian bus.

I wholeheartedly second Savman's motion for a Spyderco Custom Shop!
