Just wanted to write a short review of my recent experience with Spyderco customer service.
A short time ago I purchased a leaf blade Enuff, and while I like the knife, the sheath had issues. So much so that I considered selling the blade. A quick google search; however, revealed that not only had Spyderco fixed the issue with a newly designed sheath, but they were offering to replace the old style free of charge. A phone call to customer service confirmed this and the nice young lady (I am terrible with names-sorry) informed me that if I mailed them the old sheath with $5 for return shipping they would send a new one post-haste. We even agreed that I would keep the old G-clip and they would send a new sheath without one.
A short time later I received a phone call from a gentleman (again, sorry no name) who inquired about the shape of blade for my Enuff, as the new sheath was not universal across blade types. When I told him it was the leaf style he said the sheath would be on back order, but he would send one ASAP.
Fast forward to last night and I found a small box on my front porch as I returned from work. Inside was my new sheath including a new clip!! Not only that, but also a letter apologizing for the wait (only about 2 weeks) and a refund of my 5 bucks!! WOW! In the grand scheme of life and business a sheath is a small thing, but that was what made me so impressed. The fact that a company not only recognized that one of their designs could use improvement but offered to replace the old version free of charge is top notch customer service in my opinion!
So as my way of saying thanks, I've decided to "reinvest" that $5- with a little extra (sshh don't tell the wife) in another new Spydie! Thanks again and way to go Spyderco!!
