Just thought I'd give my latest encounter with the service/warranty side of Spyderco....
Just got a Native III and BG-42 Military back, where they both received new bevels from a fresh sharpening. The Native had a bevel more obtuse than 20 degrees on one side, so sharpening on the Sharpmaker meant that I was only hitting one side of the edge and hitting the shoulder on the obtuse side. Now it's been thinned down a bit and is screaming sharp.
There was nothing really wrong with the BG-42 Military, but it's been my EDC on-and-off for almost 4 years and the edge could have used a re-freshening. The bevels looked like crap after a few drunken attempts to thin the edge below 30 degrees inclusive.
Came back with a splinter-picker tip and a ridiculously sharp edge. I took this opportunity to strip the knife down and replace the bronze washers and handle screws with a fresh set, compliments of Spyderco. I also removed the delrin backspacer and am in love with this knife all over again.
Big  to the customer service crew at Spyderco. Give them a raise if finances permit, Sal.
