Have a chance to grab one bnib for $100. Ceramic ball lock, s30v steel. Looks cool. But never heard about them till I found this one.

Opinions?

I had one and had nothing but problems w/the ceramic or plastic ball lock.

Sold it and bought an original D'Allara w/the stainless steel ball lock. Never had a problem with it and the design of the original is FAR BETTER than later versions. There's one for sale right now on EB w/a SpydieEdge (supposedly new but no mention of a box) for not much more than a D'Allara 3.

I'd suggest jumping on it if you are seriously interested in getting a D'Allara. If you don't, I just might. ;)

That said, if you can get a NIB D'Allara 3 for just $100, there's not much risk in it, and, If you don't like it, you could probably flip it for a small profit even after PayPal G&S fees and shipping.

I have one. Love the blade but, overall, the knife could be better.

There is a learning curve with this knife. Like I said, it could be better.
