Spyderco Delica 4 Exclusive Carbon Fiber TiCN CruWear

I kind of chokelaughed when I saw the price .
If that is the shiny slick carbon fiber like my Caly . . . too slick for me ; would have to be like the Gayle Bradley to even get me to glance at it .
Not a Titanium clip I assume . . . aaaaannnnnd if I am going to be asked to pay that kind of money for a kind of basic little knife they better put a pocket clip on it that doesn't look like an after thought / push it out the door moment = what's with the big hole in the clip ? I know it is for lanyard hole equipped knives and I know they put those on some of their BASIC knives but . . . on a $260 knife ! ? ! ?

uh uh , nope , nope , nope , nope

Some body tell me it has one of the new "high performance blades " . . .
OK . . . lie to me then . . .

Sorry Spyderco . I love you and I was loving carrying my Drunken in right pocket and just to be that way I was loving carrying my brand new Blue Ti SpydieChef in the left pocket (which I might add cost less than this little Delica ) .

Micromelt delica is around 130 plus flytanium 80 dollar scale plus maybe backspacer, shipping handling + your own time and it adds up to about the same.
If that's configuration people like, it's not bad price wise then.

Even the new smock with aluminum
This Delica price is ridiculous compared to the PD#1 Sprint run, even with materials considered. On the other hand, The standard Smock is $228.00 bucks. Add extra money for the coated Blade and parts would probably push it to $245-250. Most aftermarket aluminum coated scales are $99-150, increasing the cost to $350-360 minimum, If customized after purchase. Not saying everyone wants a blackout version, but this exclusive does have “value” (one and done) for some buyers!

Ya but…. Aluminum over carbon fiber ?
I don’t see the price jump for that being worth it.
Maybe some people think that’s a steal ?
I consider an aluminum handle a downgrade, but I suppose that could be subjective.

The Smock has G10/CF laminate..just a thin piece of CF on top of G10. You’re right on about being subjective!

This is not directed at you DA170
Just the knife community's knee jerk reaction to laminated :

As I said before I will take some texture (Gayle Bradley "inferior" CF on top of perfectly serviceable and light enough G10 ) any day of the week
over
Too slick / untextured "Genuine" . . . though maybe slightly lighter (maybe) slightly stiffer (maybe) solid carbon fiber . . . sorry . . .

🤪🥳 SOLID CARBON FIBER !🤪🥳
If it is like the Cally then keep it or give me the "fakey" CF on top of G10 EVERY TIME.

PS : and that is from someone who just bought a solid carbon fiber knife costing twice the price of this the poor little Delica ;
The Drunken
ha, ha, ha,
but
they had to mill some texture into the dambed thing before I would buy it .
hahaha

PPS: still LOVE the Drunken ! Zero probs, zero mods aaaaaannnnnnnd I didn't have to sharpen / reprofile it before I used it !
What's not to like !

The big hole in the clip is so you can access the pivot screw if you carry tip down.
