Since joining the forum, and liking the Para2s, one of the members was kind enough to tell me about another, but I didn't have the money and lost out. To console myself:), I bought a Delica 4/Kahr Arms edition. The blade and hardware is a gorgeous 2 and 1/2 inch bead blasted, Wharncliff style. Hands down, it's the sharpest out of the box blade I've ever received. It's my second Delica4(the first is the Super Blue). I love my Para2s, but these Delica 4s are something else. Thank you Spyderco. My PM9 has a new companion.

Kahr Arms, now that's a blast from the past. The knife is beautiful. Love the blade. The pistol brought me back a few years. When Kahr Arms first started they were located about twenty minutes from my hometown. At the time I was looking for a backup weapon and looked at Kahr. I eventually decided on the Glock 26 to go with its big brother, The 17. Gun and knife are a great pair bro. Enjoy

Thank you sir. It's my understanding that a lot of LEOs like the Kahr. I have 5 Glocks, including the 26 and the 17, but I really appreciate the smooth, revolver like trigger pull of my Kahr. As for this Delica 4, the picture doesn't fully do justice to the blade's shape, and fit and finish. I've read some of your posts and you seem to really like your New Spyderco obsession as much as I do. Best to you.

Interesting to see them make a smaller blade on an existing model.

Random fact, the founder of Kahr is the son of the Reverend Moon (of Moonies notoriety).

Do you live in a jurisdiction with a sub 2.5 in blade limit? If so, I get it. Otherwise, I don't see the advantage versus a standard D4.

Yes the Kahr is an absolutely high quality, dependable firearm used by many "on the job". Here's a little tip about firing your Glocks as opposed to other firearms. Remember the Glock has, I believe, a 17 degree grip angle. This is considerably different than almost every other firearm out there, I believe they are in the low 20's about 23 degrees. Only mention it because our guys had a difficult time switching from other firearms to Glocks. I recommend at least 500 rounds per change. Remember defensive shooting is all muscle memory. Hey, sorry for the range lesson, I forget I'm retired. Anyway enjoy both the knife and gun, I can't think of a better or more American hobby. Oh and Happy father's day if it applies!

It does apply (3 and 3GKs), thank you. Same to you, also if it applies, but generally speaking, we're all Daddy to someone.:) You're points are well taken on trigger difference. First range time with the Glock and the Kahr, I almost wanted to sell the Kahr. Got over that and learned not to keep switching back and forth. Enjoy your day.

You can replace the trigger. I always carried a NY ++, 11.5 pound pull for obvious reasons. AD's are not a welcomed incident. Lol. I was mainly speaking of the angle of the grip in reference to the slide, referred to as grip angle, Glocks are different, to the point of really screwing you up after firing it continually and then picking up your Kahr. You sound on top of it! Have fun with both😋

No, it wasn't because of size limitation. I hear what you're saying. Normally, my EDC preference is for under 4inches, say a Para 2 or an Ontario Utillitac2, etc. This one caught my eye, because of it's Wharnecliffe style blade, the beautiful finish, and and sometimes it's nice to have a small, relatively unassuming blade for utility purposes. I mean, I'm spending a small fortune to have a custom little Ti Swiss Army knife, because, I guess, I just like blades big and small when they're cool and well crafted. That would describe this particular Delica 4.

I believe it was intended for those who have to go in federal/gov. buildings, which have a 2.5" blade limit.

I believe you're correct. In most places, a blade of 2and1/2 inches would not be considered a dangerous weapon. Aside from just plain out liking this knife, and thinking this will be a nice utility blade I can take to work without freaking out everybody. It's my intention, as a newby, to practice sharpening with my sharpmaker, starting with this Delica4, before moving on to my new Para2s with Elmax or CTS-204P steel. From what I gathered VG10 is easier to sharpen than these two. Seems better to learn on this one first and build confidence. Knife sharpening was never on my radar, until I started gathering all these beautiful(to me, at least) knives.

Adrstout,

Sometimes folks (like me) like a smaller blade with a full size handle. I've pestered Sal a couple times to put a Delica blade in an Endura handle, but as of yet, it hasn't happened. ;)

In these cases, the best thing to do is buy an Endura and have a craftsman chop the blade down an inch or so. There are very simple ways to achieve the same thing without having to drop $100+ on it. I have a saber grind Delica that I've been thinking about converting it to this style.

Haha. I certainly got a lot of answers to my question and I can understand where everyone is coming from.

Enjoy that pretty little knife!

Thank you. I liked it so much that I just bought the Khaki version as well.

WILL BE HERE SOON.

My primary carry is a PM9, and I love the blade shape, if only it wasn't a lock back. :'(
