I bought a waved Delica 4 on eBay and the handle is actually more of a blue color than black, is this typical? In the auction picture it looked black.

The color's fine, they come in all types. It's a legitimate Spyderco if that's what you're concerned about. Nice choice, btw. I'm thinking of getting one of these for my girlfriend.

Welcome to the forums:).

Yes, the color is blue-ish rather than the gray that is listed. I have no idea why this is.

I just picked up a serrated endura with emerson wave and it has the same blue handle. Is that indicative of the wave models?

I'm loving the wave already. Didn't think I'd be too keen on it, but it's cool.

Yeah I would have preferred a deep black handle, but the knife is sooo sweet I'm going to keep it anyways

Yes, the blue-gray color is used for the Waved knives, the red for trainers, British Racing Green for ZDP-189 and black for regular production. The scales will interchange, though. Several people have swapped parts around to get the blade they want in the color of handle they like.

I heard they made it that blue color for police uniforms. But, that's just what I heard

It matches my uniform perfectly, but I doubt that's why they made it that color (I'd call it navy), otherwise I'd think that the clip would have been the same color as the handle. The first version of it, the waved Endura 3 (witch I also have), was made as a special run for the SelfDefenseForums, and it had the same handle color, though it had a matte gray clip. If I had to guess why the handle was made the color it was, I would guess to blend in with jeans, not necessarily police uniforms. If Spyderco wanted to make a knife blend in with police uniforms , which would be difficult because police uniforms vary greatly depending upon department, I think they'd do it with their Police model.;)

P.S. I will agree with one thing, the handle color of the waved Delica/Endura is not what I'd call "gray." "Gray" is what I'd call the color of the FRN Wayne Goddard sprint run from 2004.
