Does anyone know when the CIIPSFG Delica will be available?

This is the Foliage Green model that 'shade-shifts' between gray and green.
From the 2006 Supplemental Catalog:

Just gotta get one of those Delicas!!!

Thanks,
Mike

That looks pretty nice. I too would like to know. Although I be getting a wave.

Dealer on eBay was listing them, with the provision they actually don't have them in stock, I hope the actual color is like Spydercos supplement rather than what was on eBay, a "forest" green, Yuck!

Gollum,
Just checked ebay and I think that seller just photoshopped a standard prior generation Delica with a green overlay.
The handle in the ebay pic is an incorrect shape, the clip mounting areas on that knife also don't match the Sypdie Supplement pics, and the 'volcano' texturing doesn't match either.

I guess we just wait until this Delica is more widely available and see what it really looks like...

Patience, patience, patience....
(Don't want to wait - gotta get one now!)

Regards,
Mike

That is sweet. Is it a Sprint Run or will it be always available?

Do I need to make sure to get one fast? :)

Great news!
Thank you, Sal!!!

Regards,
Mike

P.S. Good question by 'shootist16' - are these going to be combo edge only, or will there be a plain edge offering?

The first pieces will be combination edge only. Whether or not there are more edge variations will depend on demand.

Well.........there goes my purchase. :)

I don't buy anything combo edge.

I guess I'll have to stick with the Black one for now.

Are there any picture of it looking green, or is it an optical illusion?

My guess is it's something like one of these:

The middle part is the same color, but different backgrounds make it look very different. The severity of it in this picture requires a complicit background, but if the "changing" color shade is just right you can get a milder illusion with natural backgrounds (after all, we are only expecting to go from grayish-gray to grayish-green, not purple to yellow). Grayed-out colors really make this work (anyone argue about whether their gray waved Endura had blue in it?).

They look awesome in person!!! I saw them at Blade!!!

Is there any kind of color change from the viewing angle involved, or is it just a carefully selected solid color?

It is a carefully selcted color that was selected by the Army for their "color".

Joyce refers to it as a "shade-shifting" color in that it seems to change depending on the background.
