Does anyone have the Delica with the G10 handles with the flat ground blade? I have an Endura but the saber grind is a little obtuse for my taste and I'm not really wild about the FRN handles. Is that Delica a good slicer? Thanks

It is a better slicer, but at twice the price. Since its a utility knife slicing is not that important. If you want a good slicer you can save some money and get the centofaunte III.

Not to be argumentative, but the Cent III is a hollow saber grind. It is however a good slicer.

In that price range, you could also get yourself a Military or Para-Military.
I'm looking at the Delica for it's size. The Military and Paramilitary are much larger. I have heard many good things about the Delica but the FRN and saber grind were holding me back.

Damn, that caly3 looks nice too. That pocket clip looks like it holds the knife deep in the pocket. Now you have me thinking. Have you held both?

Personally speaking, I don't like the feel of the Caly. I don't own one, but I've held one a couple times. It's OK holding it without the choil, but I absolutely do not like the choil. That's different than most people, I guess, but I like holding the knife with my hand in a "thumbs up" position rather than... As if I were trying to crush something between my thumb and the middle joint of my index finger.

So I guess feel up a Caly and see how you like it compared to the Delica. I don't imagine the Delica G-10's feel would be much different compared to that of the FRN.

If you do get the Delica, maybe you can swap the blades, keep your FRN, and see if someone wants a G-10 flat saber-ground Delica.

The Delica with G10 and steel liners feels 100% better than the FRN handle.
The G10 puts this Delica in a whole 'nother league.
Here's a picture comparing my Delica G10 with my Military D2

D4G10 is one of the best slicer I have from Spyderco along with ParaD2 and Caly3

In fact ParaD2 and D4G10 occupy 90% of my EDC rotation get it, you will love it

If you want a Spyderco slicer, get the Caly 3 in ZDP189. Hands down the very very absolute best slice I have EVER used.

Is the ZDP189 hard to sharpen?

It's not hard to sharpen but it does take longer to get it to where you want it. I spent, maybe 10 minutes on it between the medium and fine rods and then finally a strop. I haven't sharpened it since.

You could send your Endura off to Tom Krien for a Full Flat Grind job for around $35 + $10 shipping. He does great work.
