I'm looking for a new EDC folder, and have narrowed it down to the Mini Griptilian and the Delica, both plain blade. I'd love to hear some opinions of people who have owned either or both.

TIA

I much prefer the Delica. Its flatter in the pocket, the Spydie hole is easier (for me) to deploy, and I like the back lock better. The mini Grip opens like butter, and is a little rounder and more hand-filling. Though still a small knife. They are both fine pieces of knife, but I prefer the Delica.

both are good for edc but the Griptilian has more parts that could break like the omega spring, the Delica is a simple lock-back.

Delica:
- thinner, and seems to disappear in your pocket better.
- Spydy hole works better than both options on the Mini Grip.
- longer, and IMHO much better in the grip area. Just feels much more comfortable IMHO.
- scales are much more grippy than the Griptilian despite it's name sake. LOL
- VG10 can take a seriously scary edge, and is easier to sharpen.
- New FFG is hard to beat for slicing
- Feels like a better quality knife

Griptilian:
- Axis Lock is amazing
- 154cm holds an edge well
- thumb stud model is not as wide as the Delica allowing a hand in the pocket better.
- Better jimping
- Clip doesn't seem to chip like the Delica

Both great knives, and almost equally popular, but I would say the Delica has the edge.

I have owned both. Sold the Mini Grip, but still own the Delica.

I'd take the mini Grip. Because I don't like Spyderco. Just too ugly IMHO. I like knives where the blade doesn't stick out of the handle much.

Because of the hole the blade sticks out of the handle a lot

^^this is how I like them to look^^

i have owned both, and i liked the delica almost twice as much, so i got rid of the mini grip. Delica all the way!

I just ordered this. It should be here on Monday....

If all goes well i will most likely get a Manix2 or Sage.

I personally prefer the Grip over the Delica.

The Grips feel a bit fatter in pocket, but every Delica I've owned has up-down blade play.

I too would recommend the Doug Ritter Grips, as it will hold its aftermarket value the best.

I have both a mini Ritter and a FFG Delica 4. Both have custom scales and I carry them with no clip. The Delica is flatter but the Wilkins grips on the Ritter make it close. The usable blade length on the Ritter is better than the Delica. The S30V on the Ritter is also better at holding an edge over the VG10. Of course the Ritter is more expensive than the Delica but they both spend time in my pocket. Between the two locks I'm an Axis fan.

I really do need to take some better pictures of the knives together but here is a rough idea.

I handled both today side by side, and if the Delica had been a plain blade instead of a combo, I would have walked out with the Delica. Now I have more time to think it over, and make an educated decision.

I own both and feel the mini grip is more comfortable in my hand for lots of cutting. The FFG Delica is flatter in the pocket but not as comfy for extended use. YMMV

Also, if you choose the grip, get the Ritter Mini in S30V if you choose the grip. It is superior to the D2 and 154 CM versions in my experience.

I have the endura and full size grip so basically the bigger version of both. I have a very hard time deciding which to carry so just get both of them:)

I own both and like both, but if I could only have one, it would be the mini grip by a longshot.
