Guys I bought a spyderco Delica with the spyder edge. It was everything you guys said it was and more. I am now thinking one of their larger folders for a self defense knife . I cannot make up my mind between it and one of the aaknives thorn knives. I will think it out and decide soon.

You still talking about a spyderco?

Edited to add. Sorry about my ignorance but is aaknives a company?

The (fully-serrated) Spyderco Police model makes an excellent "big-brother" to the Delica...Those are my 2 EDC's (PE Delica).:).

Jjcoolay, from what I found on Google, searching various combinatioons until I got to "AA Knives", I found that it seems to be shorthand for the Newt Livesay Air Assault knife. Here is a url for a review and a pic of it:

and here is one for KABAR's Bob Dozier Thorn:

Banditele, this raises the question of whether you want a folder or a fixed blade, since one of your choices is a fixed blade and one is a folder. while Spyderco makes both. To see the current Spyderco range, try their site and take a look at their catalogue:

Thanks for clearing that up Fuller. I knew about the dozier thorn knife but couldn't figure why it was linked together with aaknives.

The Gunting...It isn't too much larger...but it is a hell of a knife.

better hurry though if you want a plain edge cause apparently soon they will only be made 50/50.:(

I'll agree with Cho's suggestion of the Gunting.

With some training it makes for one hek of an SD knife!
