Being 63 years old and carrying more tactical knives I can remember, mostly benchmades, I really have got to like this Delica. I always carry a gun of some kind and a flashlight of some kind and a knife and as I get older I keep going lighter and lighter. The Delica has great ergonomics, perfect size and is super sharp and easy to sharpen, also very lightweight. Just thought I would share.:)

Agreed, It might not be the prettiest EDC but it's light, easy to maintain, easy to carry etc..plus it's relatively inexpensive so you don't feel the need to baby it.

Brother W speaks the truth. After decades of carrying EDC goodies, one grows weary of the bulk and the weight. Most of us can go smaller and lighter while still retaining full functionality. And thats exactly what I have done as well.

I haven't shrunk it quite as much as Brother W, but I'm certainly headed that direction.

I've spent most of the last decade carrying and using customs, Sebenzas, couple of prototypes/mid-Techs, limited-run Benchmades, higher priced Spydercos, etc...haven't really looked at another locking folder since the day I bought a Delica4 on impulse, with the exception being my next one, a fully flat ground Delica4. Spyderco really nailed this one:thumbup:

Here's a picture of my neck holster.

Excellent, I agree! :)

After progressing in my addiction I have opted for Spydies with more premium meterials ie. CF Millie, M4 Ti/G10 Millie, Sage 1 & 2, and other companies like Strider and CRK.

I sold off all of my "cheaper" [affordable] knives, except for the Delica 4 and Tenacious.

Although not luxurious, their function to value ratio is far to great for me to ever part with them.

I got a couple private messages asking about the gun and sheath. The gun is a North American Arms Pug, 22 magnum and the holster was made by Newt Livesey. Here is a picture before I modified it a bit.

The NAA Mini's hammer rests in notches between the cylinders. So yeah, it got a great safey. Where did you get the rubber grips for the .22, not the Pug? I bought one of those years ago and carry it everywhere. I love the look of the Pug, gotta get one of those now.

The delica is one of my favorites, i've got 4 right now and gave one to a friend. That derringer is great.

I just sold my Delica 4 as I need money. I always can get another one later on. I still got blue FFG Delica 4 to keep me company :D Delica designs are great value with excellent ergos!

All of the rubber grips you can order from North American Arms.

I agree the Delica is the perfect, ideal sized EDC.It always has been my favorite Spyderco.

Just got mine in yesterday the Delica ZDP 189 and let me tell you I'm impressed with the over all feel of the knife. The blade is wicked sharp, tried it on my arm and the little sucker shaves. This is my first knife but surely won't be my last. Great EDC !!
