Well I have abused this knife regularly for a year now. Never once cleaned it or taken it apart. Holds an Edge like a razor for a good amount of time before needing resharpened.

Today after I got home from church I decided it was time to give her a little TLC

Here is how she looked when I started.

first thing I did was protect the edge from the acid etch with nail polish.

Then she came apart for a full detail job, You can see all the blood from the 1 elk, 4 Deer, And 1 Antelope I gutted with it last year.

next I splattered candle wax on the blade before going in the PCB Etchant. (Sorry did not get a pic of that.)

this is how the blade came out, (after hitting it with a little 1000 grit.)

then I moved on to the scales, Used some hot glue to make a pattern and put it in s RIT dye bath, I thought I screwed it up at first but i think it came out great!

Let me know what you think, Love it or hate it comments are welcome.

Looks great man, besides gutting deers how else did you abuse it? I ask since two of my six spyderco lockbacks have failed

Mainly I use it like a 5 dollar walmart knife. I try not to jam it into concrete or anything but short of that, I have probably done it, never lubed or cleaned it till now. Used the blade as a scredriver once, cut electrical wire with it Etc,,,,

Rit dye is the best kept secret with g-10 and frn. I did almost exact same thing with my old southard scale. I gotta say I've never really liked the blue handles but the dye job you did looks 1000% cool

Handle and blade look matched to each other in the awesome pattern. Quality is absolutely top notch. THE BEST DELICA I'VE EVER SEEN!!! Go have a beer, bowl or a good nap as you deserve it!

Wow,

Thanks guys, There are some Great Delicas out there so that really means a lot to me, RUM and Coke Tonight for me =]

Sweet delica, man! I would have done a different acid etch pattern, but beyond that I think it looks freaking awesome!
