Spyderco Dice lock tension

I bought a new Dice and have a question about the lock tension. Lock-up seems rock solid but the tension of the lock bar is noticeably lower than some other knives I have. It is considerably easier to unlock than my Southard which isn't too surprising, but it is also easier to unlock than my Sage 1.

Can anyone confirm that this is normal and not something that should concern me?

Thanks, in advance!

So far as there isn't blade play, I wouldn't worry about it. Hinderers are somewhat known for this this particular level of tension, where the lock is easily disengaged but still offers rock-solid lockup.

I've not had a Dice, but I've had a Domino, with much the same as you describe. The lockbar engaged far enough, and was solid with no blade play, yet the tension on the lockbar made it easy to disengage. I think part of it is that these knives have the lockbar insert, so there is no lock stick whatsoever, as there can be on the Southard.

I just checked out my new Dice, and it also locks up perfectly, as I EXPECT from Spyderco. The lockbar seems just fine to me. No value in having it be any harder to unlock...
I've had two Southards, and yes, this Dice is easier to unlock, but just FINE, IMO.
Enjoy.

I had one in hand last week and yes it was a nice easy tension. I would say it was the same as the domino I had in hand too. Congrats on a nice knife.

The tension on my Dice is less than my domino, but it still feels pretty tight. It has a little bit of vertical play though :grumpy:
