Saw a pic on another thread of a useful looking stainless combo prybar/serrated sheepsfoot folder called the Dive Probe.

I'm sure this is new only to me, but it seems like it would be a handy gadget for a number of U/W activities.

Are they available or are they just rare and collectible conversation pieces?

Thanks for any info or background on these tools-

The dive probe is a pretty early spyderco from back when everything was handled in stainless. It's been discontinued for quite a while. They're relatively rare and valuable, but show up on Ebay from time to time.

Do a search on this forum, and I'm sure you'll dig up something good.

They are rare and collectible conversation pieces. I suppose some still use them. Their run was brief and few, back in the 80's.

There are actually 2 sizes of the divers probe. A larger one and then a smaller that is probably about a foot long. Pretty much a carbon copy of the large just shrunk down.

Doh, of course, done and done. For some reason I thought Google was enuff - of course it doesn't search past the front page.

I was fortunate enough to find a numbered large Dive Probe a few years back. I'm not into diving but I bought the Probe due to it's law enforcement background.
It seems the large model was very popular with police tactical entry units for when the need arose to break into places in a hurry.
The dive probe fills in nicely when you forget the battering ram in the truck.:D
