The first time I saw a Spyderco knife I thought "wow that's an ugly knife". I did not like the hole or the hump on the back if the blade. I have to say they have grown on me. I got a Paramiliyary 2 for edc and it made me appreciate them. They are well made, and niceand light.

Hehehe same reaction I had. I thought "are they trying to make it look like an alligator or something?". Now I mostly have spydercos. I usually carry at least one.

This is exactly the case with me. When I first got into knives, I though Spyderco knives were ugly (except maybe the Para 2)...Then one day I went to a sporting goods store and saw a Benchmade Mini Pika which I thought originally was a Spyderco. I liked the light, slim, thumb hole and etc. (I originally hated the thumb hole design on knives)...
After my new-found love for thumb holes, the next obvious path was looking at Spyderco knives...started with Delica 4 and loved the steel, blade shape, F+F, and ended appreciating it...After a couple more Spyderco's and now I'm at the Para 2...and I'm lovin it!

Spydie folders are sweet. Once you get one and play around with it for a bit and start to use it the large, loyal fan-base quickly makes a lot of sense. Their serrations, thumb-hole, and sometimes strange looking handle shapes work a lot better than you would expect before actually trying them.

Yeah I totally agree with what you all are saying . I am a fairly new convert to Spyderco but they have absolutely taken over my edc folder needs . I have a couple of Delicas a Endura and a Native . They are all very well put together and very well designed folders .

At first I was also like, "why do people like Spyderco so much??" Now I know why. The ergonomics is what really did it for me
