Just wanted to take a minute and let all you fine spyderfans know how much I'm enjoying the Double Stuff. Bought one several months ago to use when traveling and I have to say I am completely satisfied. The dual grits provide the perfect amount of abrasion for touch ups while the stone itself is small and light enough to travel anywhere. As a pleasant surprise, I finally figured out today that the leather sheath works wonderfully as a strop. Spyderco continues to amaze me with their attention to detail and craftsmanship. Here's a quick photo of the Double Stuff alongside my beloved Stretch that ate through several miles of cardboard, tape, plastic straps, and copper staples today. A few minutes on the Double Stuff and she's back to shaving sharp.

Hey fellow Michigander!

Nice plug for the pocket grit, sounds handy. Interesting about using the sheath for stropping too!

Not sure if I'd lay that 420 on its side right on the grit though! Not like it won't just scratched during regular use, but that seems.to be asking for it.

I love my Double Stuff. Since I recieved it I don't own a knife that won't shave arm hair. I actually prefer to hold the knife with one hand and run the stone across the blade as opposed to laying the stone on the sheath to sharpen.

Picked one of these up on y'all's recommendation. Now my arm is as smooth as a baby's bottom. I didn't think my spydies could get sharper...

These are great stones to have. The size makes them very convenient to have and they work very well. :)

They are used dry as they are ceramic stones!

I've been looking at this stone for a while, it would come in hand to have a few in various packs and bags. It is a great size, and it can sharpen a knife or small axe, shovel, etc quickly. Much lighter than the puck style sharpeners.

Thank you for putting up this great thread on my dearly beloved DOUBLESTUFF stone. The one Brother is right because Spyderco not only makes great blade hardware but their sharpening equipment has the same high caliber quality as their great cutlery does.

Most of the time I wear either my Carhartt Jeans which have a side leg pocket and you guessed it!! thats where I carry my DOUBLESTUFF stone as an EDC companion. I've always got something to touch up my PE blades with. My bib Overalls I work in a lot also has a side leg pocket and I believe the Lord above showed me that could be used to carry one of my favorite sharpening stones in. When I don't carry my DOUBLESTUFF I found an old Spyderco set of 702 Profiles ( half the size of the 701 Profiles)>> and I will carry my Spyderco 702 stones when I'm using my Spyderedged beasts a lot more than usual>> which here lately has been quite a bit.

it's great to know I can always have a touch up stone nearby with those side leg pockets. Spyderco's DOUBLESTUFF stone is a very versatile pocket stone>> I got 2 extra for bug out bags and an extra tool kit I keep handy. I sure hope Spyderco comes up with more small sharpening tools for PE & SE both. Great thread, great responses

Ya that 420 is a bit on the delicate side as far as scratch resistance goes. But the knife is a user and she's gotten plenty battle scars. So far I've sharpened Super Blue, Cruwear, S30V, Benchmade's 154cm and D2 on these stones. Once your bevel is set elsewhere, these stones are superb for touch-ups. They're smaller and weigh less than a cellphone. I'll be ordering a couple more for my bags.
