I,m new Spyderco knives and thinking about buying my first, a Dragonfly G10 or an FRN version with the VG10 blades what are your likes and dislikes? I would prefer the super blue steel sprint run but their unattainable.

Thanks,

Nice little knife! The choil works really well on this knife and with a lanyard it's even better. It takes a wailed sharp edge.

In my opinion the finest EDC knife made. I foolishly let my first one go, but now i have replaced it and this one is not going anywhere.

I think the G10 version is the best looking. If you prefer FRN then I would opt for the ZDP-189 version.

I have the G10 and I have FRN models. The G10 is the perfect pocket knife. It looks good, feels good, works good.

I have both the G10 & FRN knives and you can't go wrong with either. The G10 feels solid and is a very nice looking knife while the FRN is incredibly light and grippy. Both of mine are VG10 and I can get the blade plenty sharp for my needs. I suggest buying one and then saving up for the other. You won't be disappointed.

If you like the super blue steel, I'd reccomend tracking down a HAP40 sprint. Similar cutting power, a touch more stainless, and half the price.

Dragonflys size and design make a lot of sense to me, it's a great size for an EDC knife. I just have to figure out what model to buy?

Thanks for your help.

If you like featherweight = frn, solid feeling and heft = g10.
The better steels are only available with frn.

Very true..
Luckily, they are easy enough to swap out.. [emoji3]

G10/Hap40, burnt orange/H1, and the rest are stock form.
Yellow/vg-10 got sold..

The G10 is my favorite.. It's hard to beat the FRN in a pair of PJ's or as a secondary edc, tho..

Likes: EVERYTHING
Dislikes: Perhaps more addicting than nicotine.

Seriously though, the Dragonfly is an awesome, very capable little knife. The G-10 model feels super solid in hand, but the FRN models are great as well. They make great backups. Take the pocket clip off and you have a wonderful real "pocket knife."

What makes it better than the Delica?

I don't think it's necessarily better than the Delica. It's just a little different and smaller than the Delica. For someone looking for a nice small EDC or secondary knife the Dragonfly is an excellent choice.

Yes, different.

IMO the big difference is the choil. The smaller size still works for a wide range of uses because of it. Super small and light for the cutting power it gives you.

Of course, for some things it will be too small.
