Hey everyone, so I've had a G10 dragonfly for nearly 2 months now, and I really like it, the size is perfect for me however I don't like the clip positioning. The wire clip is really great, and whilst I still like the standard full metal clip, the wire clip is more discreet, which is a bonus for me.

However, I think the dragonfly clip should have been positioned where the UKPK clip was, to allow for deeper pocket carry. Its just that when I have it clipped to my pocket, due to its small size, it is very close to the tope of my pocket, and feels a bit unsecure in that it could fall out, and too much is showing at the top I feel.

So I was wondering, if I could get some proper thick metal wire or something like that and make my own clip, basically the same design, yet it goes up higher.

I drew a dodgy pic to help explain

(basically imagine the UKPK clip on the dragonflu, however where it joins to the g10 body and screws down is slightly lower)

stolen from british blades, thanks for the pic David

hopefully this makes sense and you can help me.

That'd be nice. Is the UKPK/Caly clip swoppable? If so you could just pick one up and replace it.

I always prefer the deeper carry clip. And on a wire clip, it looks really good.

AFAIK, all the wire clips that mount with a single, solid Torx screw are interchangeable. However, the G-10 Dragonfly already uses the "waterfall" style of that clip. Problem is the location of the mounting screw, which was probably chosen to allow inclusion of the lanyard hole. If the clip mount were closer to the butt of the knife, there might not be a way to include the lanyard hole, and some folks would miss that. So, as with most things, there's probably no way to please everyone.

Yeah I agree. I've got both the G10 Dragonfly and Caly3 and wish the DF had the deeper carrying clip too. that's the only thing I don't like about the DF.

Oh, I see. In that case it might be possible to use pliers to un-bend the clip and re-bend it higher up so that it rides deeper.
