Im looking at maybe buying a SuperBlue Dragonfly but im worried about the size some. For most part I like larger blades but do carry a smaller one for formal occasions. Was wondering how does the knife feel in hand and how does it compare to the Kershaw Scallion which I do own

I have owned and prefer the Dragonfly. I honestly think it feels like a much larger knife than it is and never feel under-knifed when I carry mine. I bought it solely because it is small enough I can carry it through security in my bldg.

I have the zdp-189 version now but have at other times owned a couple of salts and a G10.

You can't go wrong with one.

It's a small knife. If you're used to big folders it will be a stretch to use that as your primary knife for the day. I definitely rely on the pocket clip to provide purchase for my fingers while opening the knife. But as VolGrad said, it feels larger than it looks. If you include the coil as part of the handle, then the handle is longer than that of a Kershaw leek. But it's highly curved, which may or may not be a good thing depending on what kind of ergos you prefer. I've owned the FRN version and didn't like it. It doesn't have steel liners, so the handles felt a bit lax and un-solid. I sold it and bought the G10 version. It's much grippier and it's a little thicker in hand. I don't like ultra light knives either so the steel liners in the G10 model were welcome. It makes the little knife feel like an absolute TANK. VG10 isn't the greatest, but it's a good user steel. I'm considering buying a Super Blue version and swapping the blades.

I own the FRN Dragonfly and would have no hesitation recommending it. It feels fairly solid to me, much more so than my FRN Endura. It cuts beautifully. I don't carry mine all the time, but it eats most of my cutting chores. I wouldn't use it for processing a lot of cardboard boxes, say, the blade is too short, but for most of my requirements, it's fine.

Edited to add: the blade is only AUS 8, but that works pretty well. If you had a better steel, that makes it an even better knife.

It handles great for a knife that size. I have the super blue Delica and love the steel and color. I find the dfly to handle almost as well as the Delica because of the added choil, and I know others even prefer it. If it's any consolation the military is my favorite do all knife, with its massive handle, but I can still drop down to the Delica or dfly and enjoy them.

Ps I don't own a dfly, this is based off old comparisons.

The Dragonfly is a small knife, but with the choil I can get a four finger grip, and I have fairly large hands. If you are wanting the Super Blue version, don't wait to long as it is a sprint run (1200 pieces). It seems it may be the most popular of the Super Blue sprints.
