I bought a dragonfly2 (FRN VG-10) about two weeks ago. My pocket clip started to come loose so I decided to get my T-8's out and tighten it back up. The screws will not tighten completely. It seems like they are stripped. Am I doing something wrong or are they just stripped? I don't want to have to pay 20 dollars for two new screws from spyderco.

It's worth contacting spyderco, they'll likely send you a couple screws on the house. No promises though.

Look at the opposite side of the knife while you are turning the screw, it is probably spinning. Get out a t7 or t9 and put it in the other screw to stop it from spinning while you tighten the clip screw.

I have a T8 on each side, should I use a T9 on the other side?

No, I was just assuming you only had one t8 and were not using any bit in the other side. If the screws are still spinning with t8s in both sides it sounds like they might be stripped. Was the knife new when you got it?

Yupp, brand new never been opened. Its all good, Im going to contact Spyderco and see what they think. I heard excellent things about their customer service.

I experienced a similar issue with my Dragonfly (FRN ZDP-189). It's come undone twice, so then I slipped on a tiny nitrile o-ring on the clip side under the screw. It's held up since, although the now-taller screw potentially has clearance issues depending on the hem of the fabric it's clipped onto.

Now that I think about it, it might be possible to grind down a bit the end of the corresponding post for the screw...
