Hey guys I am new to this forum and am looking for a new spyderco edc and I am unsure what to get. I would like a blade that is between 3 and 4 inches but I can go a little lower but I don't like anything over 4 inches for edc. I can spend up to 125ish give or take a little. I will be using it for an edc like I said and maybe a little for hiking and fishing. I was looking at the caly 3.5 and the para 2 but I'm open to anything Pictures would be awesome if you can. thanks guys I look forward to your responses.

Probably depends what you do for a living. I have an office job and often wear suits. I really wanted to get the Bradley Air, but living a few blocks from the beach and carrying the m4 blade steel next to my body everyday meant it could corrode. That wasn't worth the hassle to me.

I carry this one instead, and can travel pretty much anywhere in CA and not worry about getting arrested. And I can use it to open a box at work without being known as a knife freak:

We could probably list 12 or more that would fit your description.

Para 2 is one of the most popular, but hard to find at your price. Manix 2 is a good choice too, the G10 model is a little heavy, the lightweight models are real nice. Bradley folder, Endura, Caly, Stretch are all good choices too. Of these 7 models there are different steels, different locks, different handle materials, and different prices. None of them would be a bad choice.

It's a little smaller than you're thinking, but the G10/VG-10 Dragonfly2 is a freakishly good little knife. Diggin' my new Native-5 too. It's a full-size knife without being outrageously large.

Do you have a lock preference? If you do, then that could help narrow down your choices. I personally love the compression lock on the PM2, but find it a little clunky in the pocket. The Caly 3.5 gives you about the same amount of blade as the PM2 In a slimmer handle, but it has a back lock. For even more pocket comfort, the Caly 3 is awesome. If you like liner locks, then the Sage 1 is in your price range and carries more comfortably than the PM2 (for me). There are a lot of other great choices including many with frn handles. If fishing is something you'll be using it for, then maybe a Salt series knife would be best. Keep in mind that you will probably end up with many Spydies eventually. :D Good luck with your decision.

I just ordered a PM2 camo, hopefully it lives up to the hype. From everything I hear, its an awesome knife. I also have a manix 2 and it is great, as well as the caly 3 cf/zdp. I recommend all three, or maybe a delica/endura in zdp-189.

I will use it for fresh water fishing and maybe like once a year for salt water when I go on vacations but by no means will it constantly be near water. I live in Pennsylvania so I don't think blade rusting would be much if a problem

I think that at your price point it would be hard to beat either a PM2 or a Manix2. That said, for less you could also look at the Delica and/or Endura. In all honesty, it is hard to go wrong with a Spyderco, just need to figure out which one suits you best :)
