Spyderco edge angle guide or similar tool?

I am very interested in this or a similar tool (I know the spyderco is discontinued, hence the question) I am new to the hobby so all of the toys interest me greatly, useful or not :-) I think it would help me if I could estimate edge angle on new or sharpened knives.
 
There are similar tools available for wood carvers but I do not think they will work as well (because the notch below each gauge is pretty wide...which is fine for chisels and such, but not so great for thin bladed EDC knives).

There are others ways to estimate an angle of an edge bevel if you REALLY need to. I have used a micrometer and some trig calculations, another method involves using sharpening equipment and a marker to assess the bevel angle on the knife relative to the honing angle of the sharpener.

Finding the Spyderco gauge might be tough....I presume most people that bought them will hold onto them considering they were inexpensive, small, and neat!
