Hey guys,
I am in the market for a new knife, and I was wondering what I should get for under $150. I'm interested in the Spyderco Endura 4 FFG and the Benchmade Griptillian. Any other suggestions are welcome.
Thanks

I felt the Griptilian and even the Mini-Griptilian was too "chunky" for me and sold both off. I have an Endura G10 still and highly recommend that one if you can find it. Check out the Spyderco Paramilitary 2 also and if you wan something a bit smaller, look at the Spyderco Sage series. I have the Sage 3 CF (carbon fiber) and it is my weekday EDC. PM2 on weekends.

At that price point you've got a lot of good options but both you named are great knives. You can't go wrong with either.

You'll get a ton of replies here. They'll be more relevant if you can tell us what your needs are. We can assume you're looking for a folder but what will you be using it for?

I prefer the grip over the endure, HOWEVER I if it were the endure in ZDP-189 I would take it over the BM.

As mentioned you can not go wrong wuth either. Both have goods steels and locks. If made in usa is really important then get the Benchmade. I would say get the Benchmade now and quick before their new pricing policy takes effect.

??? New pricing policy?

Yup. Benchmade decided to drive a good portion of its customer base away. But that's another thread.

For me, camping and EDC are two distinct needs with each calling for a different knife. I prefer a good quality fixed blade such as the ESEE series when camping. That said, if I had to have one folder for both tasks I'd go with a Spyderco Para 2. It's within your price range, not too large for daily carry, and sturdy enough for medium (not heavy) duty camping tasks. The challenge is finding one. But persistence will pay off.

Basically comes down to what company you like more ,I like the grip more then anything , I dont find it to be chunky , and you can still find them for 75 dollars if you look around

I owned both and found the endura 4 to be the winner in my opinion. The grip is a little thicker, if you like the hand filling type knife. I had a zdp-189 endura 4 and LOVED it.

Between those two I'd say Endura but realistically within that price range you could get a much nicer knife!

I like the endura better but both are good choices and classic modern folders
