Hello all, so I recently purchased an Endura 4 and noticed on the skeletonized metal liner inside, it doesn’t fully fill in the FRN handle mold when it gets to the tip on the top. There is an about 3mm gap, is this normal? I have researched photos/videos online and noticed some have a gap and no gap on others. I mainly notice no gap on older pictures/videos and the gap on newer ones. Could this be a recent change in manufacturing?

Could someone please kindly advise.

Thank you so much.

Pics please
Hi, thank you. Please see the picture.

Unsure of what model you purchased (your picture link isn't working) but looking at my four Enduras (Hap40, Superblue, Wave, standard VG10) there isn't a gap anywhere near as severe as 3mm. I would suspect your hunch is correct, this is a more a recent manufacturing issue.

That said, I would hesitate to call it a true "issue" unless it is causing you to doubt the stability, longevity, or performance of your Endura. If that's the case, contact Spyderco, this seems like an easy fix.

Where did you buy the knife?

I happen to be carrying an Endura 4 today at work so I had to check to see if mine had any gap. The one I have on me is the standard FRN/VG10 model that is about 2 years old and after close inspection I can not see any gap between the liner and the handle. I even put on my reading glasses to get a closer look. Now I'll have to go home and check the others.

An actual pic would definitely help as it is hard to visualize the actual problem IMO.

I can't imagine that would create any type of issues.
Agree. Can’t see any issue at all and it’s possibly how the knife is designed.

My brand spanking new Endura 4 is the same. Hard to see in my crappy iPhone pic, but I wouldn’t have even bothered to look of it wasn’t for this thread.

I usually don’t pay attention, but as far as I remember, none of mine shows that gap. Even if it does, it should not be a problem. I think it’s 1-1.5mm and not 3 mm.

FWIW, if one to get Boomer military scale for Endura, this is exactly area that needs to be reduced to fit.
Shouldn’t be an issue fitting back original scale.
