Spyderco endura k390

I'd be more worried about front and back blade play as I've noticed all too often that it gets worse with use, as the act of pushing the cutting edge against object exacerbates it

Enjoy that knife.

I have been pocketing my pretty often.

That steel is great, and the model makes for a good work knife.
It does make a good work knife.

I ve had two Japaneses Spyderco lock backs over the years that had a small bit of up and down blade play, out of about 15-20 I ve owned. It never affected the functionality of those two knives.

I have a little bit of up-and-down play. Should I be worried?
I complain a lot about Spydercos, but never about blade play. I have about half a dozen Enduras and a few Pacific Salts, and none of them have any blade play, including the one I carried frequently for several years. I just got a new K390 version, which is too stiff, but not a trace of blade play. I'm trying to think if I ever had any Spyderco with blade play; nothing comes to mind. If anything, they are too stiff out of the box.

Can you tighten the pivot screw slightly without affecting the action?

Up and down blade play, not side to side. With the blade fully opened/locked, try to push the blade tip on a hard surface, you can feel the blade play, though it doesn't bother me. I'm talking about Spyderco mid lockback.
