Spyderco Endura Makeover And A Wave!

Hi all,
Just finished up this Spyderco Endura for a guy at work. He saw my Endura 4 wave and wanted one just like it. His knife was pretty beat. He's known for being "hard on the rigging" as we say at work.

A few weeks ago I fixed a broken tip on this same knife for him. These before and after pics are after I fixed his tip.

It took me longer to sharpen this old bugger than it did to wave it! I gave the whole thing a good cleaning and buffing and bead blasted the pocket clip. I'm gonna give it back to him tomorrow, and make him promise to stop cutting bricks with it!

I just kept touching the blade. When it started to get too hot to touch I dipped it in a bucket of water. It really didn't get that hot. Only had to cool it a few times. Dremmel tools are great!

This was very easy to do. If you're thinking about trying it I say go for it. I spread some dychem blue on the blade, traced out with a scriber how I wanted it to look and went to town.

The whole refurb including the wave, bead blasting the clip, cleaning, buffing the blade and handle, and sharpening to scary sharp only took about an hour.
Good luck!

The Wave makes any great knife even better!

Thanks,
He gave me 4 flour. shop lights and a propane tank when I was building my new shop. I owe him! Sometimes barter is better.

p.s. I've got a few spyders myself that are gonna get the wave treatment as soon as I have the time. My Native 3 especially!

Yeap , good job on that. I cant even tell the tip was broken.
I've been toying with the idea of waving one of my Spyders , just havent commited yet :D

Good work

I can't wait to see a waved Native (I just picked up an endura and am planning out a wave right now...) I would love to see how much of the blade your gonna remove to make it work...

Great job (copying it down right now)
Phil
