Spyderco Endura - Plain? 50/50? Seratted?

I'm thinking of getting the Spyderco Endura for an every day carry knife. Primary use is backup defense and opening packages. No heavy duty every day use. What should I get?

I've found the seratted version at a good price, but don't know if that is the way to go or not.

In the same price range ($45-60) what others do you recommend.

Thanks,
Scott

P.S. I did check out the FAQ on blade type but wanted additional opinions.

I do not have the Endura, but I do have a fully-serrated Police, and for delicate tasks I have to perform every day I just NEED a plain edge portion, which on Police is non-existent.
So, my next acquisition would be plain edge or 50/50.
Some folks dislike 50/50 blades, and they do take some time to get used to, but I am more than happy with my ladybug, so I guess it's a personal preference thing.
I will get me an Endura soon enough, and it'll be a plain-edge one.
Just my CDN$0.02
Ta! :D

I think this belongs in another forum.
Possibly "Blade Discussion"

This should really go to Spyderco Forum. You'd get a LOT mere replies that way, sometimes even from Spyderco staff, which I daresay is very cool.:)
Peace.

No. There's one there too, but they were referring to the one here, off the Makers/Manufacturers section of the forum.

This is the wrong forum -- an Endura, while a folding knife, is not a _traditional_ folding knife.

That said, considering your uses, I think that it really doesn't much matter what you get, as long as you're able to keep the edge sharp. I'd go with a plain edge, but if you've got a sharpmaker or similar, or you're willing to send it back every so often to be sharpened, then you'd do just fine with serrated or half and half.
