Spyderco Endura Tip

I have had my Brown FRN Endura since last Christmas. I use it often, and sharpen it often on ceramic rods (Lansky).

It seems like the tip of the knife when closed is about 1 mm from coming outside of the FRN. Have any of you guys noticed this? I tried to take a pic but can't get good focus. Just look at one of your closed knives from the side and imagine the tip of the knife sticking up above the liners.

I love the Endura and plan on buying one of the hunter orange one's, just wondering if any of you have had the same issue...

I've had the same thing on 2 different Delica 4's. Never have been above the handle but as you describe very close. I haven't cut myself yet but as soon as I do I'll be sending them back to Spyderco for and adjustment of some kind.

One of my Enduras is about the same as yours. It looks a little sketch but hasn't given me any problems yet.

I'm not sure if it would work, but on traditional slipjoints you can lower the blades by lightly grinding down the spot where the blade hits the blade stop. might want to try it.

Yup. I've adjusted quite a few of my knives over the years, including an Endura or three. Just grind the kick down a tiny bit at a time until the point sits where you want it.

I don't have the E4, but I took a look at my G10 Endura and the tip is pretty high there too. I guess an inch is as good as a mile though. Couldn't touch it with my fingertip.

The G10 Endura is based off the E4.

If the stainless endura gets to be the E2, I think the G10 endura should be the E5. :D
